High School Education

A high school describes a level of education received by learners aged approximately from 14 through to 18 years. It entails knowledge extended to teenagers. However, minor variations in age exist. Just as secondary schools do, high schools deliver level three of the 3-phase ISCED framework of education. They offer subject-based classes to students. Apart from the US, other countries also apply the term high school. However, the terminology is not universal.

Similarly, the age of those attending pukekohe high school is not generalized same to financial abilities and pupil-ability levels. Attendees learn valuable skills for future jobs. Such schools include the Pukekohe High School also available in Australia. It is common in a 3-part system of education where authorities also admit overseas students without the access program. Usually, pupils join the high school level after completing the junior high school section also called the middle school.

Comparatively, the name changes from high school to secondary school in the 2-part system such as the one practiced in the United Kingdom. In this system, pupils transcend to secondary school from primary school at the age of 11 that also comes with the change of the name from pupils to students. In the US, it starts at grade 9 and ends in grade 12. It is also the last level of compulsory education for children. However, the law exempts incorrigible students from attending this level of schooling.  Get more info!

The process of exemption is expulsion. The compulsory age is the age that a state does not make it mandatory for a child to go to school. For instance, the state of New York makes it compulsory for all children below the age of 17 to attend school unless there are valid reasons. Taking a general exam is an indication of finishing high school. Such exams are referred to as General Education Development (GED).

The law permits students of a certain age to stop studying in high school if they attain a particular age without finishing the level. The age varies from one state to another. Most of the states quote the age of 17, others 1 and the rest 18. In the United Kingdom, the last level of education, which is an equivalent of a high school, is a secondary school. However, children must be in school up to the age of 18. In both forms, schools enroll overseas students within the system with equivalent grades.

In most countries in the world, high school education is viewed as very pivotal to a child's future. It is in high school where most students decide on their future careers. Notable also is that co-curricular activities done in high school also determine if a person undertakes a sporting activity for a career in future. Parents are hence advised to take high school education very seriously.
